Ali Ashraf, MP
Professor
Md. Ali Ashraf, MP, is the Chairman of the Parliamentary
Standing Committee on Ministry of Finance. Born in 1947
Prof. Ashraf had his early education in Comilla and
obtained his honours degree in Economics and his Masters
in Economics from the Dhaka University.
Prof.
Ashraf has worked as a researcher in various positions.
A senior politician Prof. Ashraf actively participated
in the War of Liberation organising freedom fighters’
camp in India. He was also Director in the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs in the Mujib Nagar Government.
Prof.
Ali Ashraf is associated with a number of social and
professional organisations. He is a member of Dhaka
University Senate and the Bangladesh Red Crescent
Society. Besides he has association with a number of
educational institutions. Prof. Ali Ashraf has
represented Bangladesh in many conferences abroad and is
a widely travelled person. Presently he is also a member
of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of
Planning.
